Access to Education - In the Classroom - 20th September

Access to education is about more than attendance. For many neurodivergent and disabled learners, barriers to access emerge long before exclusion, persistent absence or crisis intervention.

This one-hour, practical workshop is designed for teachers, support staff and SEND leads who want clear, realistic guidance on improving access to education within everyday school settings.

The session focuses on early identification of barriers, legal clarity, and practical actions that can be taken immediately to support learners more effectively.

This course will help you to:

• Understand what access to education means in practice, beyond attendance
• Gain clarity on key legal duties and common misunderstandings
• Identify systemic, environmental and practical barriers affecting learners
• Recognise early warning signs before issues escalate
• Leave with realistic actions that can be implemented straight away

Approach

This session is evidence informed and lived-experience led. It is non-judgemental, practical and grounded in the realities of school life.

Participants will receive simple tools and guidance they can apply immediately, without adding unnecessary workload.

This training session will be held on Zoom. Please ensure you have access to a stable internet connection and can turn your camera on. The session will end with a question and answer session. 

You will be sent an email containing the Zoom link the day before the event. 

Training Refund Policy

Cancellation up to 1 week prior to the event will enable a full refund. Cancellation the week of the event will enable a 50% refund. Should you cancel within 48 hours of the event or do not show up you will not be eligible for a refund.
