About Us

Working for Accessible Education.

Discover Inclusion is committed to ensuring neurodivergent and disabled children are able to access education regardless of how they communicate.

Who

Children with moderate to severe additional needs are often stuck between mainstream curriculums that move too fast and sensory curriculums that don't stretch them. Whether in school or at home, we aim to support these children with their learning.

What

Our mission is to ensure every child can access education that works for them. We will achieve this through providing knowledge and advice, facilitating learning through shared experience and enabling community support.

Why

We believe that every child deserves access to education, and that this should be inclusive of their disabilities. We work in partnership with schools, parents and carers, and communities to promote long-term inclusion in education.

The Accessible Curriculum

Providing access to education is more than telling people to give every child a seat at the table. It's about ensuring that every child understands what is happening at the table to the best of their ability.

The Accessible Curriculum is a clearly structured approach to teaching topics across maths, science and humanities. Each module is planned to reduce the pressure on educators and contains exciting lessons, interactive sensory experiments and more!

    Mini Projects

    Educational Attractions

Access to education isn't limited to the classroom, there are lots of exciting places that children and young people can visit to learn more about the world we live in.

Our first stop is London Zoo, a popular location for anyone learning about animals, the life cycle or conservation.

    • Drawing the Animals

What better way to spend time at the zoo than drawing the animals. London Zoo does amazing conservation work both on and off site. We are highlighting our aim to increase the accessibility of learning about the conservation and animals through our videos.

    • Communication Resources

We don't just want to identify the problem, but be part of the solution. With the animals we have drawn we can create communication resources to use at any zoo. These can support people to choose where they want to go and learn more about the animals they can see without relying on verbal speech.

    • Informative Posters

Many animals are already used to represent elements of the disability community, they can also be a great way to explain disabilities. Use these posters to learn little and often! Put them up in the staff room, on the back of toilet doors or use as lesson inspiration!

    Rainbow Literacy

In collaboration with Ann Sullivan, Phonics for SEN

Rainbow Literacy is a suite of resources that provide teaching and learning activities for children with moderate to severe and complex needs who are beginning their journey into literacy. The suite covers all aspects of reading, spelling and writing and includes a specialist resource for children who are pre- or nonverbal / non- speaking and one for children who need to work on spoken language structure (syntax). Each pack is filled with focused activities supported by delightfully illustrated and engaging resources. Meet Tat, the magic cat, Pat, the plumber and, of course, Sap, the world-famous snake detective!

    • Readers

The Rainbow Readers Packs aim to provide comprehensive sets of structured, teacher/TA led resources that work on all aspects of reading, including decoding, language structure (syntax), language comprehension, vocabulary and background subject knowledge.
